Optical Illusion (4.2%)

Was it a goal or not? Does it really matter in the grand scheme of things?? Our end of World Cup Special. Amber gold and well hopped. The addition of whole hops in the cask enhances the hop aroma and flavour.

Dragons Revenge (4.5%)

English malt, English hops. A traditional brown in colour with a hop flavour that's smooth to start and with a long finish that balances the strength of the ale.

Farmers Folly (4.2%)

August Special

 

Sportsman Special (4.3%)

Brewed as a special house beer for the fabulous Sportsmans Arms in Nounsley this is made from the first runnings of our Apprentice using the same Polish hops in the boil but at a stronger strength.

Hunters Storm (4.2%)

Originally the winter version of Sportsman Special this short run special is made from the first runnings of Dengie Best to give a fuller flavoured stronger Best Bitter.

Crafty Badger (5.8%)

This years annual historic ale made out this years 'Flocculation' A gathering a craft brewers from across the UK to celebrate well made ales and well barbequed food! A recreation of the Simmonds (Reading) 1880 amber ale. Four different malts and English hops this brew was a parti-gyle one with the first runnings used to produce Wobbly Badger.

Colour:  Deep Amber

Wobbly Badger (10%)

Made from the first runnings of the above Crafty Badger with plenty of English hops. Only 2bbls were made with half being left to mature until at least November 2010 for a few special showings at local pubs and festivals.

Colour: Amber/Brown

IPA Twist (3.6%)

Special order only

Not a historically accurate IPA that's for sure (we think is more on par with a 'modern' one) Copper brown, lightly hopped but with a light refreshing coriander twist makes this a good session beer for those bored with those other 'IPAs'.

 

Colour: Dark Red

Raging Bull (4.9%)

Special order only

A Special Bitter, full malty flavour with traditional English Fuggles and Goldings hops. At 4.9% we don't recommend it as session beer as it has a bit of a kick!
