What's new and what's happening
September 2008 A big day on Sunday the 6th. It's the tractor fair up at the farm and we're supplying the beer. The brewery will be open to visitors too, apparently SW Essex CAMRA are coming. If you want anything special that weekend boys you'd better drop me a line! August 2008 July 2008 Time for the Chelmsford Beer Festival this month, (linky) three beers going there which is another first for us. We also start bottling this month too. Our first pallet goes out at the end of the month, assuming Trading Standards are happy with our labels! We can now also supply pins and minipins to the trade and (via our mates at the Cap) to the public. Just drop us a line! The last weekend of the month is the Tillingham Flower Show, we're helping with a beer tent at the rear of the Cap & Feathers for the weekend. There's some live entertainment and a BBQ so it's definitely worth a trip out. June 2008 It's the South West Essex CAMRA Beer Festival early this month. A couple of beers going there too. Thanks to Olly at Crouch Vale for running them down there. Another chance to catch Hoppy Helper II at Johns festival at the fantastic pub The Swan in Little Totham (linky) It's on the run up to Fathers Day so a good reason to treat dad. UPDATE: So much for Hoppy Helper being a one off! Popular demand (thanks John) means we'll be brewing this for a while more. See it at the Swan now, if it's not on moan at John ;-) BIG NEWS!! Thanks to some excellent support from The Hurdlemakers Arms in Woodham Mortimer (linky) we'll have our first beer in a Gray & Sons pub this month. It's Hoppy Helper and it'll be at their first beer festival which runs from the 27th to the 29th June with a BBQ and live entertainment. I must say the burgers were great! It's the Blackwater Sailing Club (linky) Open Day on the 22nd June, we'll have a beer there so drop by and see how much fun can be had on water. Just to let you know, we got very wet! Cracking day though. May 2008 A busy month ahead for us here. We've beers so far going to the Star in Steeple for their festival over the second Bank Holiday, look out for a new beer there! A current favourite at the Station Arms, Southminster 'Dengie Best Bitter' will be there for the 2nd Bank Holiday beer festival too. Also we've John (the guv'nor at the Cap & Feathers) wedding this month, I'm sure he'll like our present, yes it's beer! Apparently the future Mrs John will be arriving by tractor. Then there's the Colchester CAMRA festival, 2 beers going there and some more beer heading off to Norfolk somewhere via Humpty Dumpty and that's without our usual customers. April 2008 Thanks to all the support at the Maldon Beer Festival this month, the positive feedback makes it all worthwhile. The original order of 2 beers turned into 8 with a firkin of Hoppy Helper II helping to raise over £250 for the festival charity. We only managed 2nd and 3rd in the Beer of the Festival with Apprentice and Dark Mild. Curse those chaps at Farmers Ales! Seriously, well done Nigel, Fez and the rest of the gang there.
